Fiona Tyndall Band
Fiona Tyndall was born and raised in Country Clare, on the West of Ireland, an area famous for Traditional Irish music. Fiona studied music at The Dublin Conservatory of Music, and had her voice trained classically. During that time she recorded her first CD, Deirin De, a collection of songs in the Irish language. It was well received on both sides of the Atlantic, not only for her pure voice but also her unique interpretation of traditional songs.Fiona first expanded her musical style into jazz when she moved to Boston, collaborating with a group of jazz musicians to record her second CD, Moonglow, a collection of jazz standards.Fiona and family later moved to the Princeton area. She cut her teeth with Rock n Roll, singing backing vocals with a local band (The Funkin’ Soulnuts) and went on to front her own Rock ‘n Roll/ Soul/Motown band (Uncle Albert). She also developed a love for Burt Bacharach, and has regularly performed her Bacharach set with a tight band of skilled local musicians. She continues to return to her Celtic roots and Fiona now focuses on both Traditional Irish and Scottish music. She created a stand-alone show, Shamrock and Thistle which blends aspects of Gaelic music, quiet ballads, traditional instrumental jigs and reels, interspersed with works by contemporary Irish songwriters. Fiona also performs the Songs of Robert Burns at ‘Burns events/Suppers’ during the month of January. Fiona went back to the studio during COVID and recorded her recent album New Frontiers, a collection of songs written by Irish composer Jimmy MacCarthy which gets air play on both sides of the Atlantic.Fiona’s love is singing Traditional Irish tunes with her talented team of musicians. She regularly sings and plays bodhran at the “Sunday afternoon sessions” at the Dubliner on the Delaware in New Hope, PA and is thrilled to be playing with Anton and Nathan.
Anton Guryev is a guitarist based in Bucks County, PA. His long musical journey has led him through diverse bands and genres from classic and folk rock, with undertones of jazz and blues, to the enchanting realm of traditional Celtic music.
Nathan Bishop is an Irish traditional fiddler, experimental violinist/violist, and teacher based in New Jersey. A mentee of the avante-garde fiddler, Cleek Schrey, Nathan is a current collaborator with JoAnna Mendl Shaw’s the Equus Project and Andy Sowers of Mabou Mines, where he pairs live fiddle with pre-recorded soundscapes to accompany works of dance and theater. He is a past artist-in-residence at the Mignolo Arts Center. In the more traditional scene, he regularly performs solo and in collaboration with Fiona Tyndall, Judy Minot, Patrick Clifford, and with his contra dance band, Squirrel’s Chair. In 2023, his Irish folk trio, Faoileán, released their first album, Far Hills, which has received over 100,000 listens. He founded and hosts the bi-weekly Irish seisiún at Flounder Brewing Co. in Hillsborough, NJ.
